Jarrel Dale Moore born on April 25, 1934, in Waelder, Texas passed away on August 14, 2024, at the age of 90 at his home in Waelder, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Howard and Martha Hazel Moore his son Patrick Scott Moore and his grandsons Joshua Moore and Clint Moore. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 49 years, Sylvia Lopez Moore, his sons Jarrel Lee Moore, Michael Wayne Moore, John Howard (Jack) Moore and daughters Dawn Moore Gerber and Alexandria Moore Garcia (Gary); thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, numerous extended family members and friends.

He graduated from Waelder High School in 1951, where he proudly played basketball as a Wildcat. He remained dedicated to his school by serving on the Board for the Homecoming and initiating the Silent Auction fundraiser. Additionally, he supported the basketball teams by attending games whenever possible. He also served on the Board for the Waelder Visitor and Heritage Foundation.  He was always proud to say he was from Waelder.

In 1979, he established Frontier Surveying Company in Corpus Christi, Texas, and successfully ran it for 19 years. In 1998, he decided to retire and sold the business to enjoy his retirement at The Moore Ranch. He was extremely proud to know that Frontier is still in operation to this day.

He was an esteemed Professionally Registered Land Surveyor and served as President of his local Texas Surveyors Association Chapter for 2 years in Corpus Christi, Texas. Additionally, he was a long-standing member of the Board of Directors for the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors state organization. In 2007, he received the prestigious Hugh L. George Award for The Retired Surveyor of the Year. 

In his retirement, he stayed heavily involved in surveying and generously volunteered many hours to the University of Texas A&M Corpus Christi Surveying program. As an Adjunct Professor, he hosted the annual Survey Field Camp for students at The Moore Ranch for 30 years. Each year, students, professors, and professionals would convene at the ranch to provide hands-on surveying training. This was an event he eagerly anticipated every year.

He loved the outdoors, his hobbies included gun smithing, ranching, rebuilding motorcycles and his antique Model A car and truck. One of his biggest passions was flying and anything aviation, receiving his private pilot license in 2007.   He had a dream to build an airpark on his land and worked many years to make this dream come true and Founded the WT Airpark in Waelder, Texas. 

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially at The Moore Ranch, where many gatherings and celebrations were hosted. He was a man of integrity, generosity, and humor. He always had a smile on his face and a story to tell. He was an inspiration to many and a mentor to countless friends and surveyors. He touched many lives and left a legacy that will be dearly missed.
