Jarrod W Reynolds, 44 of Buxton Maine passed away peacefully in his home on March 21, 2026 after bravely battling Glioblastoma brain cancer for 18 months.
Jarrod was born in Portland on April 7, 1981, a son of Blair and Virginia Reynolds. He had one younger brother, Daniel. He was educated in Westbrook schools and attended one year at SMCC. He lived most of his life in the house his grandfather built. His youth was spent playing sports including bowling at his Uncle Blaine’s alley. His summers were spent at Island Pond, VT camping with family and friends. Jarrod began working at Idexx Laboratories in 2004. He was an important part of the team and was known for his hard work, dedication, and the relationships he built. Jarrod continued working while going through cancer treatment until June 2025. Idexx never terminated him.
Jarrod met the love of his life, Cathy on April 3, 2005. While they never believed in love at first sight, that’s what it was. Jarrod and Cathy were married on September 12, 2009 and had their daughter, Ava-Rene on March 21, 2012. Their continued communication, love, and support kept them strong throughout many difficult times in their lives. He kept her glass half full through it all. More than anything, Jarrod was a family man, a mama’s boy and an old soul. He was simply the best.
He enjoyed watching Boston Sports, especially the Patriots and Celtics. He was a true fan, always believing in his team, even if they were 28-3. Jarrod had many hobbies and truly loved life. Whether it was gardening, tapping trees to make maple syrup, camping, kayaking, walking on the beach, building a snowman, sledding down hills, swimming in the pool or lake, picking apples, tubing down the Saco River, fishing, playing basketball, taking his dogs for a walk, riding in the jeep with the top and doors off, woodworking, or going to a game; he lived each day to the fullest. More than anything,
Jarrod loved watching his daughter grow up. He had the opportunity to coach his daughter’s basketball team, The Teal Tigers! He was always at every practice, cheering on her and her whole team. He celebrated each report card, dance recital, chorus concert, band concert, soccer game, drama performance or bad joke. Ava-Rene was his greatest achievement. Everyone will miss his giggles, his strength, his positivity, his warmth, his love and the twinkle in his eyes. Jarrod was a man with the ability to light up a room with his smile, spreading joy, laughter, and making everyone feel welcome.
He leaves behind his wife Cathy, their daughter Ava-Rene, his parents Blair and Virginia Reynolds, his brother Daniel Reynolds, his cousin Kristina Reynolds, his father-in-law Rene Cloutier, his uncle and aunt Tim and Deborah Doiron, their son Alex, his uncle and aunt Barry and Barbara, their son Josh and his wife Yvon among many other friends and family.
A celebration of life will be held at Dolby Funeral Chapel at 35 Church Street in Westbrook Maine on Saturday, April 4, 2026 from 1-3pm.
