Jasa Chanté Johnson

Jasa Chanté Johnson, lovingly known as J, JChante, Mama, and Mom-Mom, went home to be with the Lord on September 8, 2025, at the age of 51. She was born on November 29, 1973, in Abilene, Texas, where she spent her life surrounded by family and friends who adored her.

Jasa was the heartbeat of her family a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her brother, Chad Vickers, and mother Tonya Goodwin. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Jarvis Johnson; her daughter Jazmyn Johnson and husband Patrick Jones, daughter Justice Johnson, and son Jarvis Johnson Jr.; Extended child Jesse Vickers, her three precious grandchildren, Tyree Jones, Tinzlee Jones, and Jruee Johnson; her brother, Richard Vickers; she has seven nieces and nephews; and her Mother and Father-In-Law George and Vera Johnson, and Brother and Sister-In-Law Travis and Genique Johnson.

Family meant everything to Jasa. She found her greatest joy in being "Mom-Mom," showering her grandchildren with love, laughter, and wisdom. She carried a strength that inspired everyone who knew her, always putting others before herself. Whether she was cooking up meals that nourished both body and soul or settling into one of her beloved Lifetime movie marathons, Jasa lived with a charisma that could light up any room.

She will be remembered most for her strength, her unwavering love, and the way she made people feel cared for and seen. Her legacy will live on through her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her.

Services to honor Jasa's life will be held in Abilene, Texas, at Elmwood Funeral Home, 5750 Hwy 277 South. Visitation will be Friday, September 12, 2025 6-8 pm , and her Going Home Service will be Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 10 am.
