Jasiah "Bubba" Smith 18, of Newport News, Virginia, departed this life on February 25, 2026. Jasiah was born on July 20, 2007, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, to Kanesha Tyler and Justin Smith. He was the oldest of six. He worked in Land Scaping.

Jasiah had many names: "Noodle", "Boug", "B.K.A.","Bubba". He loved listening to music, dancing, roller skating, fishing, riding, and playing on his GFA system. As a little boy he was always so lovable, engaging, helpful and compassionate about others. Jasiah became the man of the house at an early age. Most importantly, Jasiah loved and protected his family. He attended Stafford County Public School and Hampton City Public School.

Jasiah is survived by his parents, Kanesha Tyler and Justin Smith; his siblings, Zamiya, Elijah, Zaiah, Noah and Symphony; maternal grandparents Tiffany Bumbrey-Coleman, David Tyler, and grandpa, Melvin Bumbrey (MaKetha) ; paternal grandparents, Bonita Wilson (Kirk); maternal great grandparents, Dorthy Green, Evelyn Tyler, and Peggy Shanklin (Billy); Paternal great grandparents, George and Brenda Smith, Nevada Smith, Yulanda Smith; aunts, Keitra Coleman, Francesca Smith (Dominic) and Kirah Wilson; uncles, Darrian Coleman, Khristian Coleman, Christopher Smith, Trey Smith, Keenen Smith, Kirk Wilson, Jr., Jeremy Bumbrey; and a host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins, family and friends.

Jasiah was preceded in death by his maternal great grandfathers, John "Sonny" Tyler, James "Skeeter" Green, Clifton Thomas Byrd; Paternal great grandfathers, David Smith, Sr., David Smith, Jr.; and maternal great great grandmother, Helen Coleman.

The interment will be held privately at a later time.
