Mrs. Jasmine Lametra Miller-Posey
Mrs. Jasmine Lametra Miller-Posey, age 42, was born on January 12, 1981. She entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 13, 2023 in Augusta, Georgia surrounded by family and friends.
Jasmine is the daughter of Mrs. Ella Mae Motin and the late Mr. McArthur Glover. She entered into holy matrimony with Mr. Jonathan Posey on July 12, 2004. From this union came two children: Jada Monet Posey and Justin McArthur Posey.
Jasmine loved children and started caring for them at a young age, often babysitting her younger cousins. Prior to becoming ill, she was going through the process to become a court appointed special advocate for abused and neglected children.
Jasmine was a woman of faith, becoming a believer in Jesus Christ later in life. She had a servant's heart and loved celebrating people. She looked for ways to do nice things without expecting anything in return. She was a cheerleader for her family and friends, always encouraging them. She was happy to see people succeed whether she knew them personally or not. She loved people in spite of who they were or what they were going through with no judgement. She was a good listener, gave great advice and would always speak her mind.
Jasmine had an impeccable work ethic. She graduated from Kerr Business College in 2004 and became a certified medical assistant. She worked in administrative roles in medical offices.
Jasmine was very crafty. She loved making gifts and decorating for birthdays and special occasions. She loved baking birthday cakes, cooking, watching cooking shows and trying new recipes. She took great pride in being a mother and taking care of her family.
She was very competitive with a great sense of humor. She always wanted to be the first person to say ‘Happy Birthday’ to a family member by calling at 12:00 am. With her sisters she was competitive about who made the best lasagna or macaroni. She enjoyed laughing and spending time with family and friends.
Jasmine was preceded in death by her sister, Mrs. Sally Denise Brown “NeeCee” and step-father, Mr. Charles Motin.
Jasmine leaves to cherish her memories: her loving, devoted husband and caregiver, Mr. Jonathan Posey, daughter, Jada Monet Posey, and son, Justin McArthur Posey, all of Augusta; mother, Mrs. Ella Mae Motin, Montmorenci, SC; one brother, Samuel (Thomasena) Miller, Aiken, SC; two sisters, Minnie Miller, Charlotte, NC and Sandra Miller (Tracey) Blocker, Aiken; mother-in-law, Dorothy (Samuel) Coles, Augusta; father-in-law, Mr. Ervin Posey, Aiken; two brothers-in-law, Phillip (Rebecca) Posey and Corion Posey, both of Aiken; nieces, nephews, godchildren, and a host of other family and friends.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Cole Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ronald Patterson officiating.
