Ja Ja’s Smile

Though your smile is gone forever, and your hand we

cannot touch, we still have many memories of the Ja Ja, we love so much.

 Her memory is our keepsake, with which we’ll never part.

God has her in His keeping, we have her in our heart.

Sadly missed, but never forgotten…

 

On September 11, 2000, in the city of Austin, Texas, Deshandrick Mitchell and Edward Rainey were given the charge to be parents to a beautiful baby girl, whom they named Jasmine Ray Rainey, sweetly known as “Ja Ja”.

Jasmine attended the public schools of AISD. She obtained her education foundation from Oak Spring Elementary School then to Bedichek Middle School, moving up the ladder, she graduate from Aikens High School in 2019.  Jamine took advantage of every opportunity to get a good job, working and maintaining life skills.  She was employed by the Social Security Administration, in the Disability Determination Services department at the time of her death.

Although Jasmine had no children of her own – she claimed Ashton, Kayden, Khalil, and Trinity, as hers, and they loved her dearly.

Jasmine lived her life as a vibrant young lady, strong-willed, which grew stronger with each episode that arose in her life. Sometimes called the ‘big boss’, Jasmine was a strong-minded young lady with a direct point of view. She was a joker and riddle, very neat, funny with a great sense of humor…she loved her family and friends, giving them, their own personal nickname.

Jasmine departed this life at the age of 23, on Sunday, October 29, 2023, with her family and friends surrounding her bedside, knowing this was not ‘goodbye but we will see you later’.  Ja Ja will be joining her great aunt, Debra Boyd. 

 

Ja Ja beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her biological father, Edward Rainey, her mother and father, Deshandrick Tisdale and Lee ‘NookNae’ Tidale of Manor, Texas; sisters, Desiree Mitchell of Austin, Ealliyah Rainey of San Antonio, and Ashley Tisdale of Austin; brothers, Kishan Tisdale, Andrew Tisdale, Tyler Tisdale all of Austin, and Lee Tisdale of Tulsa, Oklahoma; maternal grandparents, Kay Francis Boyd of Austin, Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Sammie Lee Mitchell, Retired, and his wife, Pauline, of Lawton, Oklahoma, fraternal grandmother, Alice Harris of Austin, four generations of uncles and aunts, a second mom, (great aunt) Karen Williams of Austin; her precious God children Ashton, Kayden, Khalil, Trinity, and a special cousin, Daphane Williams; and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

FAMILY AND FRIENDS were a priority in her life.  Ja Ja loved her family and family time was important to her.  She was dependable and was loved by all who knew her.  One activity in life she loved was dancing and we can imagine her now as she dances through the Pearly Gates and down the Heavenly streets of gold in that place we call Heaven.   We lift our voices and say: “thank you Lord for loaning Ja Ja to us for the seasons allotted to her”.  We are the better because Ja Ja came this way.

 

Ja Ja is loved

                            Ja Ja will be missed      

                                                       But Ja Ja will never be forgotten……

 

Family and Friends will gather for Visitation at Elgin Funeral Home, Saturday, November 11th from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A Celebration of Jasmine’s Life will immediately follow Visitation, beginning at 11:00 AM with Reverend Steven Ward presiding.  Interment will be private.
