Jason Brandau Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 12, 2025.
Jason Robert Brandau, 43, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on May 28, 2025, in Kyle, Texas. Born on November 25, 1981, in Winfield, Illinois, Jason brought warmth and laughter to the lives of all who knew him.

Jason graduated from Canyon High School in New Braunfels, Texas. He found his calling in the food industry, where he worked at several of his favorite restaurants. Known for his ability to bring joy to customers and coworkers alike, Jason had a natural gift for hospitality and a genuine desire to make others smile.

Above all else, Jason was deeply devoted to his son, Jasper Brandau, age 9. He was passionate about being a father and took immense pride in caring for Jasper. Their bond was strong and filled with love-Jasper eagerly looked forward to every visit with his dad. Jason's heart overflowed with affection for his son, and he embraced fatherhood with unwavering dedication.

Jason's generous spirit extended far beyond his immediate family. He was known for lending a hand to anyone in need and for his kind and caring soul. A jokester at heart, Jason had a unique sense of humor and a playful personality that could lift any room. His hugs were legendary among those who knew him-warm, sincere, and always comforting.

He is survived by his beloved son Jasper; his parents Lynn and Russ Brandau; his brother Sean Brandau; his sister Lisa Brandau McKee and Barry; nieces Anyssa Brandau and Ruri McKee of Texas; as well as many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members. These include Becky and Mike Riesen and cousin Kelly and Mark Bailey and cousin Alea Bailey; Robert and Hayden Riesen and cousin Emerson Riesen; Jennie and George Pena and cousins Dan and Danielle Pena and cousins Taylor and Braxton Pena; Kristin and Chris Rose and cousin Lennon Rose; Terese and John Parssinen and cousins Matthew and Tiffany Parssinen, Michelle Parssinen; Mary Jo Mankiewicz; Pam Caprio; cousins Tori Padillo, Brandon Padillo, Logan Padillo; many family members from the Chicago area including the Drelicharz family; relatives from Bensenville including the Schultz family; as well as extended family The Flores family in Kyle, Texas, including Veronica Flores of San Marcos.

Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents Ted and Helen Drelicharz; grandparents Margaret and Paul Brandau; Uncle Allen Mankiewicz; along with many other beloved relatives from both the Drelicharz and Brandau families.

Those who knew Jason will remember him as a warm-hearted soul who danced to the beat of his own drum. His laughter was infectious, his kindness boundless, and his love for family unwavering. Though his time with us was far too short, the memories he leaves behind will forever be treasured.

May Jason's memory bring comfort to those who loved him. He will always be in our hearts and prayers.
