Jason Tyler Brooks, of Des Moines, Iowa, was born on July 7, 1983, and lived his entire life in the Des Moines area. Jason was a loving father, son, brother, and friend whose heart and humor touched everyone who knew him. He was best known for his quick wit, his deep loyalty to family, and his ability to make anyone feel seen and valued. Throughout his life, Jason worked at several of Des Moines' well-known clubs, including The Garden and LeBoi, where he became a beloved figure and a steadfast advocate for the GLBTQ+ community. Jason had a gift for creating safe, welcoming spaces where everyone could be themselves. He was known for protecting and standing up for others, and his kindness and strength earned him the respect and love of so many. The community and his friends have surrounded Jason's family with unwavering support - a reflection of the love he gave so freely. Outside of work, Jason was also a passionate gamer. He loved online gaming and spent many hours connecting with friends through titles like World of Warcraft and others over the years. Gaming was one of his favorite ways to relax, laugh, and build friendships that extended far beyond the screen. He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Hayes, and grandparents, Sharon and Vernon Brooks. He is survived by his mother, Tosha Brooks; daughter, Macy Brooks; sister, Jennifer Palmer; stepbrother, Clayton Askland and his wife, Amber; their children, Dallas and Robbie; along with many friends and family who will carry his memory in their hearts. Jason's memory will live on in the laughter he shared, the love he gave, and the lives he touched. His spirit will forever be a light to those who knew him.
