Jason Michael Hansen, age 52, of Sulphur Springs, Texas passed away at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
Jason Michael Hansen was born on September 25, 1972 in Orange County, California to Steve and Trina (Espinoza) Hansen. He moved to Texas in 1982 and graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1989. Jason joined the Navy and was a Nuclear Engineer. He drove a truck across the country for 2 ½ years. Then he worked security in Dallas before moving back to Sulphur Springs where he worked for EZ Mart for years as well as in security at Grocery Supply. Jason was a kidney transplant recipient. He was an avid gun collector and was very proud of his collection of guns. Jason was a Christian, read the Bible, and enjoyed telling stories from the Bible.
Jason is survived by his mother, Trina Wilks; stepmother, Joy Hansen; brother, Jacob Humphrey (Alley); cousin, Laurie Attman; aunts, Lisa Griffin (David) and Julie Potter (Mike); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Patrico and Marlene Espinoza and Jim and Barbara Hansen; father, Steve Hansen; sister, Ann Marie Vidaurri; nephew, Jacob Kane Humphery; niece, Jordan Humphrey; uncles, Rocky Espinoza, Arthur Espinoza, and Patrico Espinoza; and aunt, Aleta Slate.
