Jason "Whiskers" Johnson

FULTON--Jason "Whiskers" Johnson, 53, entered eternal rest on Monday, January 19, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center Inpatient Hospice, surrounded by family and friends. He was born August 7, 1972, to the late John Richard Johnson and the late Betty Waddle Johnson in Tupelo. Jason attended Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Known affectionately by many as "Whiskers," he had a deep love for the outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing, and rock hunting, finding peace and purpose in nature. Whiskers also worked in the logging industry for several years, a line of work that reflected his strong connection to the land and his hardworking spirit. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and the simple joys of life he cherished.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday January 22, 2026, at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Jarrell, and Bro. Lloyd Minor officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 21st, at Senter Funeral Home.

He is survived by his brother, Ricky (Marie) Johnson of Fulton; brother in law, David Pettigo of Fulton; sister in law, Debbie Johnson of Fulton; nephews, Bret Johnson and Rich (Tori) Johnson, both of Fulton; aunt, Reba Flurry of Mantachie; uncle, Danny (Janice) Waddle of Marietta; children he helped raise, Cameron and Kaitlyn; host of nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Richard and Betty Johnson, and sister, Sheila Pettigo.

Pallbearers will be Johnny "Wad" Adams, Mag Gough, Jeff Ramey, Donnie Johnson, Micah George, and Daniel Morris.

Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Johnson, Cameron Johnson, Bradley Pharr, and Mark Williams.
