Obituary of Jason Keefer
Jason was born in King City, California to his loving parents, Tim and Celia. There he grew up with all of the warmth of belonging to a small and welcoming community. After completing high school, he moved to Salinas to attend Hartnell, where he participated in the choir and acted in plays. His education continued at Fresno State earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English. Jason returned to King City and worked many years at the Monterey County Library, as well as Keefer's Restaurant. Jason was an avid reader, enjoyed political satire comedians, current events, listening to music and loved spending weekends with his parents where he played with his dog and always had a favorite meal waiting for him.
Jason's life was full of many challenges, but through the help and guidance of Interim and Monterey County Behavior Health doctors and counselors, he achieved independence. Having safe, secure and a caring staff at Interim housing in Salinas brought much happiness in his final years.
In addition to his parents, Tim and Celia of Monterey, Jason is survived by brothers Brent Keefer and Ross Keefer, both of Carlsbad, California. Aunts Karyn Lundy Moffett, of Meridian, Idaho, and Pat Keefer Hearne, of Chico, California, are included in his surviving family.
