Jason Pirro Obituary
Jason L. Pirro, 25, of East Stroudsburg passed away on Thursday, July 15, at Camp LeJeune, N.C. He was the husband of Christina Am. (DeFelice) Pirro.
Born on Dec. 17, 1978, in Paterson, N.J., he was the son of Vicki Osbun Van Horn and the late Robert Pirro.
He was serving with the U.S. Marine Corps as a private first class with the School of Infantry at Camp LeJeune, N.C. He was a 1999 graduate of East Stroudsburg High School South and a resident of Monroe County for the past 12 years.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughter, Diana Pirro of East Stroudsburg; step-father, Gary Van Horn of East Stroudsburg; and two step-sisters, Alissa Van Horn of New York City and Heather Van Horn of Edwardsville.
A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 23, at Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington St., East Stroudsburg, with Father Daniel Toomey of St. Matthew's Catholic Church officiating, followed by military honors performed by the U.S. Marine Corps. Cremation will take place at the H.G. Smith Crematory in Stroudsburg.
A visitation for family and friends will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

I am so terribly sorry to hear about Jason's death. This truly breaks my heart! I went to school with Jason in Hopatcong. In fact we had dated for a while back then. We share the same birthday. We were good friends and sort of lost touch after he moved to PA from Hopatcong. In fact that is the last time I talked/saw him. Even though it had been so long I have never forgotten him. I was playing a game with friend the other day and we were discussing our first kisses and mine was Jason. It sparked an interest to search for him on Facebook. My heart stopped when I saw his memorial group and I read about his death. Jason was a great guy. I am so sorry for everyone who has lost such an amazing person! RIP Jason!

I decorate your tree outside with real flowers at times and fake flowers because the fake flowers last longer and you can see them from heaven.

Happy Birthday sweetheart. It still seems so unreal that you're not here. It's like I still expect you to walk into the room with that glowing smile. Oh how we miss that and oh how we miss you.
Today, 31 years ago you were born and your Dad picked me up and took me to the hospital and I was the first relative to see you. Oh you were the biggest baby there. And I saw you and from that moment on, you captured my heart. And then the first time that I held you, you filled my heart and my life with love.
You became more than just my nephew and more than just my Godson, you became a part of me. I loved you as if you were my own. I never longed for a boy because I had you.
There's a part of my heart that is always going to feel the loss of you not being here. But then there's the rest of the heart that had many many years of wonderful memories with you and that shall sustain me until we meet again one day.

Jason,
It's been 5 years and you are always close in thought and forever in the heart. You are missed beyond words. And there are no words to express the depth of the love that we feel for you. It's eternal.
Your Mom has shown tremendous strength in the journey that she's still taking. I know that you're proud of her. And Gary has been great with your Mom. He's a wonderful man. He's so loving and supportive. I'm glad that she has him, because after your death I guess not many people knew what to say to her so I guess they thought it was better to distance themselves from her after your funeral and not say anything. It's good to have people around you. Alot of people deal with grief in different ways and not to worry, I talk to your Mom all of the time and she is alright. And she knows that she can call me whenever she needs to, at any hour, in the middle of the night, it doesn't matter and I'm there. And I know that I can call her at any hour, in the middle of the night, it doesn't matter and she'd be there. I made sure that she wasn't alone in her grief and I am so proud of her.
I have been there since day one and your Mom will always have a support system and be surrounded by love. Noone should be left alone to deal with the loss of a loved one and she'll never be alone. That's a promise kept.
Your girls are growing up so fast. I was talking to Diana on the phone when she was visiting your Mom and she's a young lady now and alot like you. She's a very cool girl. And your youngest daughter will be 5 soon and she is so full of energy. I know that you are so proud of them as you watch them from above. They look so much like you and looking at them is like looking at you. They are your legacy that we cherish.
Megan misses you so much. You are always the "Dude" and she really misses her coolest relative. She loved you like a brother and she carries you with her wherever she goes. She never takes your ring off of her neck. She misses you more than words can say.
And it's funny how your Uncle Reyes is very protective of your Mom. They joke alot and it's entertaining, but he looks out for her.
We were blessed to have you in our lives and we will always treasure the time that we had with you on earth. Send our love to the family and friends who are with you. They're never forgotten.
You were a compassionate, funny, loving young man. You were truly one of a kind. You will never be forgotten Jason. We will always remember you with love, undying love.
As we remember losing you 5 years ago today, we also celebrate the life, the love and the memories of Jason Pirro. A young man who left this world too soon, but made his impact on our lives and made his mark on the world and in our hearts.

Where do I begin?
Time doesn't stand still when you lose someone very dear to you.Jason you are and were a loving son, husband, and a great Dad. I know you would of been a great Dad also to your youngest daughter,who was born after you died.
Your girls are so much like you when you were their age.
