Javier Elias, 98, who lived for over 50 years in Arlington Heights, IL, died in Wheeling, IL on October 31, 2024.

Javier was born in Aguascalientes, Mexico, in 1926, to Jose Guadalupe Elias and Amparo Lozano de Elias. He studied business under his esteemed Profesor Alcala before moving to Chicago in 1946 to be with his father and find work in the steel mills on the South Side of Chicago. He served in the Army in Occupied Japan following World War II. Upon his return to the US, he began his career in international business, traveling to many countries across the world, especially South and Central America. He met his beloved Joan (May) in 1952 while working in Chicago. They raised 6 children together and celebrated their 71st Anniversary on September 19, 2024.

Javier was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Rosa Maria Elias and Amparo Elias de Rubalcava, and is survived by his wife, Joan Elias; children, Christine Elias, Catherine Elias (Richard Madl), James Bennett-Elias (Jane Bennett-Elias), Susan Elias (Mark Stutrud), Cindy Howard, and Patricia Borre (Ken Borre); and his grandchildren, Brandon Bennett-Elias (Meredith Chase), Bryan Bennett-Elias, Jenna Nienas (Evan Nienas), Matthew Howard, Nathan Borre, and Jackson Borre; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 7th, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Addolorata Villa, 555 McHenry Rd., Wheeling, IL in the Almond Room, followed by a mass in the main chapel at Addolorata Villa at 11:00 am.
