COE, Jay G., age 85, of Centerville, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Sycamore Hospital, Miamisburg. Jay was a graduate of Northridge High School in Montgomery County, Ohio. He also attended Ohio State University. He is a retiree of both NCR and Pitney Bowes of Dayton, where he worked as a tool designer. Among the many unusual things he designed throughout his professional life were Zebco fishing reels, and medical clamps used during open-heart surgery. He took pride in his work, and especially enjoyed mentoring the new hires. Jay was a long time member of Southminster Presbyterian Church, where he served as Deacon for many years. During his years at Northridge High he enjoyed running track and field, and playing trombone in a band. He enjoyed travel with his wife, including making several trips to the West Coast to visit his son. His wife, Shirley Yvonne Coe, and parents Mamie and Miller Coe precede him in death. He is survived by his loving children, Michael Jay Coe and wife Julie of Portland Oregon, and Linda Marie Coe of Kettering, Ohio. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, April 15th, 2010 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville, Rev. Malcolm White officiating. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. A short memorial service will be held immediately following.
