Joseph Coe Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home on Jan. 24, 2026.
Joseph "Joe" Alva Coe, 59, of Wheelersburg, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, with his daughter holding his hand and reminding him how deeply he was loved. He was surrounded by his son and family throughout the day, wrapped in the comfort of those who meant everything to him.

Joe was truly one of a kind - strong, resilient, and a fighter until the very end. His smile and laugh were infectious, and his presence filled every room. He loved his family fiercely and without condition. A master CNC machinist, Joe took great pride in his work and was known for his unmatched skill. He loved riding his Harley, hunting, and fishing, and he could build just about anything with his hands. He was a devoted brother, a loyal friend, and never passed up the chance to play a good joke.

Joe was the very best Papaw, and he absolutely adored his grandchildren - Jocelyn, Elianna, Emmalyn, Madison Jo (his "MJ"), and his boy Tristan. They were his favorite people in the world. A very close second was his children, who were beyond proud to call him Dad.

He is survived by his daughter and beloved son-in-law, Nikki (Nick) Davis of Logan, Ohio; his son, whom he could not have been prouder of, Joseph Coe of Lancaster, Ohio; and his cherished grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brother, Jamie Coe of Wheelersburg, Ohio, whom he loved dearly; his sister, Laura Benson of Little Rock, Arkansas, who held a very special place in his heart; and his baby sister and brother-in-law, Shelly (Glenn) Smith of Wheelersburg, Ohio, whom he loved deeply and dearly - and whose home, warmth, and especially Shelly's cooking always brought him comfort and joy.

He is lovingly remembered by his nephews T.J. Coe, Jacob Pack, Drew (Hayley) Smith, Terry (Natassia) Coe, and Dillyn Coe; his nieces Chantal Benson Dixon and Megan (Brian) Maulden; Aunt Kim (Jim) Huddleston; along with several cousins.

Joe was preceded in death by the love of his life, Suzanne "Suzy" Marie Castle; his parents, Judith "Judy" and Albert "Joe" Coe; his brother, Jeff Coe; a very special aunt, he often called his second mother, Susan Leigh Taylor Reed, and many other aunts and uncles.

Services were held at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, Ky on Saturday, January 31, 2026. Family and friends paid their respects at 1pm with service starting at 3pm.

Joe will be missed forever by all who loved him. Though life will continue, it will never be the same without him.
