Jay B. Coyle

1942 - 2025

Jay (Francis) Byron Coyle, 83, of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully on Friday September 19,2025. Born on June 24,1942, he was the son of the late John and Beatrice (Farrell) Coyle.

A 1961 graduate of St. Joseph's High school, Jay went on to serve his country proudly during the Vietnam War as a C-130 flight crew member with United States Air Force. Following his honorable discharge, he began a long and dedicated career with GE Plastics, where he worked as a chemical technician and group leader until his retirement after over 30 years of employment.

Jay was an avid golfer whose love of the game extended well beyond the course to the friendships he cherished at the 19th hole. Golf brought him camaraderie and companionship.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Beverly (Botto) Coyle, with whom he shared 47 years of marriage before her passing. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Tom, John, Jerry, Charlotte Gnatt and Joahnna Lewis.

Jay was survived by his daughter Cori Fazio and her husband Michael; his son Sean and his wife Rachel; and sister Beatrice Lumma. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Wade and Jay Coyle, Griffen, Trevor, Mitchell Salvini and his wife Ashley and their three children.

Burial will be private in St. Joseph Cemetery.
