Jay Conrad Eugster

Jay Conrad Eugster, age 101, entered into rest on Friday, December 22, 2023 at St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport. He was the beloved husband of the late Marguerite Eugster. Jay was born in Hackensack, NJ on January 26, 1922, son of the late Conrad Eugster Jr. and Viola (Lehr) Eugster.
He was a proud WWII veteran, serving with the US Coast Guard in the European Theatre, including Normandy. Jay worked as a Wood Pattern and Model Maker and had his own business. He built three of his own houses, a home for each of his sons, and two boats.
Jay's passion was sailing. He enjoyed building things in his shop, listening to Big Band music, watching football, UConn Women's Basketball, fixing things, and always being there for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is the beloved father of Richard Jay Eugster, Jayne Eugster Kneen and her spouse Rodman T. Kneen Jr., and Timothy James Eugster and his spouse Melanie Eugster. He also leaves seven cherished grandchildren, Jayson Kneen (Dana), Jessyca Kneen (Tom Ammerman), Haley Marshall (Kevin), Corey Eugster (Nicole), Alexis DeDeus, Cameron Eugster, and Kaelynn Eugster, eight great-grandchildren, Jay Kneen, Lincoln Ammerman, Jackson Ammerman, Sadie Marshall, Reilly Marshall, Aubrey Marshall, Jelannie Arias, and James Eugster, his sister, Charlotte Overy, and two nieces, Luann McCrae (Phillip) and Lori Overy.
The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton, is entrusted with the funeral arrangements, which are private.
