Jay is survived by his wife, Nellavine Harless Kirk; three children, Alesia (Todd Stroup) Preece of Greensboro, GA, Jay Douglas (Mary) Kirk II of Williamson, WV and Bud Russell (Belanda) Kirk of Kermit, WV; ten grandchildren, Christy (Bo) Bishop, Tiffany (Scott) Newcomb, Stephanie (Brian) Konitzer, Brad (Genevieve Dragalin) Preece, Cara (Kevin) Jones, Jay Douglas (Tori) Kirk III, Donavan (Anna) Kirk, Tyler (Savanna) Kirk, Trevor (Sydney) Kirk and Tanner Kirk; along with a host great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Carol Sue Mills of Lovely, KY, two nieces, Tina Mills and Tammy Mills Martin, son in law, Dennis Bullard and special caregivers, Kay Winters and Ruth Kirk.
Funeral services will be held at the Lighthouse Community Church in East Kermit, WV on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 12:00pm with Keith Brumfield. Burial to follow at the Mt. View Memory Garden in Maher, WV. Friends may visit at the church on Thursday after 6:00pm with special services at 7:00pm. Arrangements are under the direction of the Callaham Funeral Home, KY.
