Dear Friends and Family:
With great sadness and a heavy heart, we inform you that our Father, Dada, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Jayanti Dixit passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, February 8th at Lahey Hospital in
Burlington, Massachusetts after a brief illness.
Dad was 94 years old.
Fifty-seven years ago, Dad brought his wife, Anusuya, and family to America to open Sona in Harvard Square. From there he had several successful careers. In retirement, he became a Hindu priest where he officiated numerous ceremonies including a wedding at Machu Picchu.
His biggest passion in life was being a husband to his wife of over seventy years and a father, grandfather, and great grandfather to his six great grandchildren, eight grandchildren & their spouses, and four children and their spouses.
Countless others enjoyed wonderful and strong relationships with him and saw him as their own father, mentor, and spiritual leader.
He leaves behind a brother Jaydev, sisters Jayshree & Sarla and his late sister Jaya and their respective families.
The loss of a great grandparent, grandparent, and parent is extremely difficult to bear, but we look at his life and accomplishments with a great deal of pride. He lived a very full life and is leaving behind a great legacy and example of how to live life for us all to follow.
We appreciate the overwhelming support and your phone calls and messages. This means a lot to us.
With personal regards,
Upen & Rakesha, Anjali & Shantilal, Fareeda, Uday & Elizabeth
Grandchildren:
Dr. Babar & Nehal Khokhar, Evan O'Connor & Henisha Patel, Shiv & Hemali Sharma, Asaad & Namrata Bhamla, Ayaas Bhamla & Jada Delaney, Jayanti-Stephen Dixit, Alex Dixit & Rachel Adler, Dev Dixit
