SAMEER DIXIT

DIXIT--Dr. Sameer. The Board of Trustees and the entire Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) community extend our deepest sympathy at the passing of Dr. Sameer Dixit, a respected physician and leader at HSS. Dr. Dixit was a colleague, mentor, and friend to many, and remained dedicated to HSS through his teaching, research, and devotion to patients. He was a fellowship-trained, double board-certified sports medicine physician who cared for athletes at all levels -- from recreational to professional -- and led the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at HSS. He contributed extensively to the field through research, publications, and national lectures, served on the Board of Directors of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and chaired its Publications Committee, and served as Associate Editor for the Clinical Journal of Sports Medicine. He also provided care for athletes through his work with organizations including the New York Giants, the New York Knicks, USA Lacrosse and the Baltimore Orioles.
