Jayme D. Chasing Hawk

Jayme D. Chasing Hawk, 39, of Red Scaffold, passed away Friday, March 29, 2024, at Cheyenne River Health Center, Eagle Butte.
Funeral Mass will be 11:00 a.m., MDT, Friday, April 5, 2024, at All Saints Catholic Church, Eagle Butte. Burial will follow in the Eagle Butte Cemetery. A wake service will be 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the church with a procession from the 4-Mile at 4:00 p.m.
Jayme Darshaye Chasing Hawk was born on March 29, 1985, to Blaine Chasing Hawk and Rhea Bruguier.
Jayme grew up on the Chasing Hawk Ranch, west of Red Scaffold, SD. She was raised by Grandpa Cecil and Grandma Lois Chasing Hawk, along with her brother Cyle. Grandpa Cecil nicknamed her Booboo and the name stuck; close family still call her Booboo.
Jayme attended Red Scaffold Day School, Takini School and eventually graduated from Cheyenne Eagle Butte, Class of 2004. After high school, Jayme spent time in several different places she called home; but the Chasing Hawk Ranch is where her heart will always be. Jayme attended United Tribes Technical College in 2021, studying business management. Jayme and Cyle spent time with their Uncle Ed, Uncle Wade and Foss and Grandma Lois, her mother Rhea in Green Grass and with her cousin/sister Jessie in Aberdeen. She stayed with her dad in Montana and traveled with him to Wyoming and Washington State.
On January 2, 2008, Jayme welcomed her beautiful baby girl, Ariana Rosina Chasing Hawk-Gonzalez, into her life. Two years later she welcomed her second baby girl. On April 2, 2010, Millie Marie Gonzalez was born. Jayme was a single mother and raised her girls as best she could. Jayme's wish was that her brother, Cycle, and wife, Corey, continue raising her girls, along with her cousin Jessie.
Jayme is survived by her two daughters, Ariana and Millie; brother, Cyle (Corey); mother, Rhea and sister, Deitra; Grandma Lois Chasing Hawk; uncles Ed (Danielle) and Foss Chasing Hawk; Arlen and Steven Bruguier; all her close relatives; aunts, Connie and Juanita Chasing Hawk; uncles, Kermit and Linus Chasing Hawk; cousins, Jessie, Corliss, Taryn, Stanley, Genon, Robby Tom, Adrianne, Dylan, Chris, Robyn, Anne, Markata, and special friend, Wendell Phillips. If we forgot to mention anyone else, please know that it was not on purpose.
Jayme was preceded in death by her father, Blaine Chasing Hawk; grandfather, Cecil Chasing Hawk; uncles: Benedict, Justin, and Wade Chasing Hawk, Kenneth (Bobcat) and Alvin Bruguier; aunts, Faye and Tisi Chasing Hawk. Jayme wanted to include her grandfathers: Eagle Hunter, James, and Bob Chasing Hawk; grandmothers Bertha and Theresa Chasing Hawk, and Philomene Campos.
