Jayne Bergdorf Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 14, 2025.
Jayne Sue Bergdorf entered into God's eternal presence on September 20, 2025 at the age of 78, more than 15 years after dementia started to steal her from us.
Jayne was born on January 20, 1947 in Massillon, Ohio. Her early childhood and teen years were filled with family, church, and in her high school years the Massillon Tiger Swing Band as a majorette that's where she met and eventually married her high school sweetheart. She married John McQueen in 1968 and welcomed 2 children in the following 3 years. She was an LPN by training but stayed home with her children until they were in high school. She was a nurturer that was her calling. She loved taking care of her family. She did it for her children and eventually her grandchildren. The only thing she loved as much as her family was her Lord and Savior. Throughout the years she served as Sunday school teacher, children's choir director and sang in many choirs. Wherever she lived, she was always involved with the local church. We are rejoicing knowing that she is spending eternity singing praises to The one true God.
She is survived by her children, Chris (Kendra) McQueen and Dawn (Scott) Barkan, her grandchildren, Clayton (Mackenzie) Barkan, Bridget Barkan and Scottie Barkan, a great grandson, Jack Reed Barkan, her sister, Terry Rueckert, and her beloved nieces and nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Dorothy Bergdorf, sister, Linda Allshouse, ex-husband, John McQueen, and her beloved grandson, Jack Ryan Barkan.
There will be a private family memorial held in the near future.
