Shannon Funeral Home and Cremation Services - Town ChapelIn affectionate remembrance of Jayne E. Collier, born on March 31, 1936, in the picturesque town of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, she graced this world until February 17, 2026, in Bradenton, Florida.
A dedicated professional, Jayne pursued a career as a laboratory technician in the medical field, embodying both expertise and compassion. Her educational journey culminated in a Master's Degree, reflecting her commitment to lifelong learning and growth.
Jayne’s life was as vibrant as the adventures she cherished. A passionate enthusiast of nature, she reveled in all things related to the water, from sailing to fishing, finding serenity and joy in each moment spent by the shore. Her athletic prowess shone brightly as a great skier, fearlessly navigating the black diamond trails, while she always wore a smile that ignited the enthusiasm of those around her. Alongside her husband, Robert Koehnke, she was an excellent dancer, mastering both ballroom and Latin dance, and even inspiring him to join her in lessons, creating timeless memories on the dance floor.
As a member of both the Moose and Elk's Lodge, Jayne embraced community and camaraderie, forging lasting connections and friendships within her communities. An accomplished traveler, she and Bob embarked on the monumental journey known as "America's Great Loop," navigating 7,000 miles on their own boat. Their insatiable curiosity led them to explore 150 countries. They were also avid cruisers, living out their dreams against the backdrop of a vast and beautiful world.
Her musical talent flourished through the melodies of the French horn, a testament to her artistic side, while she enjoyed the dulcet harmonies of the Sarasota Orchestra, enriching her soul with every performance.
Jayne leaves behind her beloved husband, Robert Koehnke, as well as her dear cousin Paul Starner and his wife Renita. They, along with countless friends, will carry forth her spirit of adventure and warmth.
In heaven, Jayne is reunited with her cherished parents, Walter and Ann Collier, whose love and guidance shaped the extraordinary woman she became.
A Celebration of Life will be held on February 27, 2026, at Westminster Bradenton - The Towers Chapel, serving as a beautiful tribute to the joy she brought into the lives of many. Friends and family are invited to gather from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, as they share in the memories of an unforgettable life—one defined by laughter, exploration, and a kind-hearted presence that will forever endure in the hearts of those she touched.
