Jayne A. Hamm

Jayne A. Hamm, 75, of Slatington, passed away peacefully in her home Monday, February 2, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Lamar R. Hamm. They were married on August 23, 1969, and celebrated 47 years of marriage before his passing in 2017.  Born in Palmerton on August 26, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Robert D. and Ruth (Horner) Scheffler.  Jayne worked as the head cook for Slatington Elementary School. She was an active and dedicated member of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church in Emerald and was a former Sunday School Teacher.

Jayne will be lovingly remembered by her son, Michael L. Hamm and wife Dawn of Bath; daughters, Stephanie J. and husband Travis Fink of Germansville, Michelle L. and husband Jason Newton of Whitehall; grandchildren, Rebecca (Jason), Tiffany (Jordan), Joshua (Jessica), Kamryn; great grandson, Allen Lamar; brother, David Scheffler and wife Renee of Germansville.

A funeral service will be at 11am on Monday, February 9, 2026, at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church, 7860 Center St, Emerald PA.  Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 to 11am at church. Interment will follow the service at Union Cemetery, Slatington. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to either the St. Peter’s United Methodist Church or Northern Valley EMS, both c/o the funeral home. Harding Funeral Home, Slatington has been entrusted with Jayne’s arrangements.
