Obituary of Jayne L. Hyde
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jayne L. Hyde on March 13 as she peacefully succumbed to the challenges posed by Alzheimer's disease. Jayne's life was a testament to resilience, community service, and the enduring bonds of family and friendship. Jayne embraced Burlington, Massachusetts, as the foundation for a life filled with love and purpose. She started a family in this welcoming community and dedicated numerous years to public service. Her commitment to the betterment of Burlington was exemplified through her roles on the Board of Appeals, Town Meeting, and Planning Board, where she tirelessly worked for the welfare of her fellow residents. In her later years, Jayne found solace and joy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, where the summers held a special place in her heart. Surrounded by the serene beauty of Wolfeboro, she called this haven home, creating lasting memories with her family and friends.
Jayne's love for friends and family was boundless, and her laughter echoed through the years as a source of comfort and joy. Even in the face of Alzheimer's, her spirit remained resilient, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Jayne for the laughter she shared, the love she gave, and the enduring legacy of public service she leaves behind. Jayne leaves behind a son Douglas Hyde Jr and his wife Martha of Rockledge FL, two daughters, Marsha Brooks and her husband Vincent of Wolfeboro NH, Krystal Clougherty and her husband Robert of Wolfeboro NH, two brothers, Lloyd Mathews of Rockport TX, William Mathews of Monticello GA, 5 grandchildren, many nieces, and nephews. Please consider donating in Jayne's name to Alzheimer's disease research at www.alz.org
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her visiting hours on Friday, June 14, from 10:30am to 12 Noon at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home, 43 Winn St. Burlington MA 01803. Interment will be private and at the convenience of her family.
