Jeff Dewey (J.D.) Harris age 80 went home to Jesus on Sunday, August 31, 2025. J.D. retired from Hurstland Farm in Niota following 37 years of dedicated service. Farming was J.D.'s life since he was a child, and he loved nothing more than working God's land. In addition to farming, J.D. enjoyed working on engines, antique cars, and watching Westerns. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley (Richesin) Harris of Niota; daughters and son-in-law, Joan Harris of Niota, and Joanne and Jeff Young of Sweetwater; granddaughter and papaws buddy, Hailey Young and her boyfriend, Dakota Huffman also of Sweetwater; sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen Brookshear and Earnest Plemons of Philadelphia; and several nieces and nephews.

Services to honor and remember J.D. will be held 7PM Thursday, September 4th in the McGill Click Chapel with Rev. Roger Fairman officiating.
