Jean M. Anderson, age 74, of Merrill, passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the Aspirus Hospice House in Wausau, while surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services. She was born to the late Edward and Eleanore (Witte) Wilde on February 27, 1951, in Port Washington, WI. Jean attended and graduated from Port Washington High School. She met and married her best friend and soul mate, Steven Anderson, on October 22, 2005, in Merrill, WI. He survives.

Jean and her family moved from Port Washington to Merrill in 1982. She enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom and a homemaker. Jean had also worked at Semco Windows for some time. Family was first and foremost in her life, she looked forward to planning for all of the holidays. Jean enjoyed going into her “fun boxes” and decorating for all of the holidays when family and friends would come over; she made a house a home. She was a planner, always on time and very organized. Jean loved flowers and would carefully manicure her flower gardens at home. She also would watch the birds and deer in the yard and liked to see the hummingbirds come back year after year. When she wasn’t outside enjoying the weather, she would make sure to catch every Brewers and Packers games she could. Jean also liked to start and end her day with working in her puzzle books. She had many collections of figurines. Jean was a giving and caring woman that had quite the spirit! She would exclaim, “I have my spark back”! She will be sadly missed, but her memory will live on.

Jean is survived by her husband: Steve Anderson, daughters: Kristine (Scott) Weiss and Cheryl (Mark) Radtke, all of Merrill, her twin sister: Jane (Jim) Kultgen of Port Washington, WI, brothers: Dennis (Marcella) Wilde of Saukville, WI and Gary (Jacquelyn) Wilde of West Bend, WI, nephews: Eric (Melissa) Kultgen, Alan (Kelsey) Kultgen and Kevin Wilde, nieces: Tammy (Jim) Thomas, Wendy (Paul) Greif and Kate (Ryan) Williams, as well as many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral liturgy will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Taylor-Stine-Waid Funeral Home (301 Eagle Drive). Deacon Jim Arndt will officiate. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the liturgy, also at the funeral home. Burial at Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery will immediately follow the liturgy.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean’s name may be directed to the Aspirus Hospice House, to help other families during a difficult time.

The family wishes to express a sincere appreciation to the nurses and doctors at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital and the Aspirus Hospice House, especially nurse Kelsey in the ICU and nurse Sam in palliative care. The staff were very professional and caring, as well as accommodating and kind.
