Jean A. Balla

1938 - 2021

Jean Arlene (Stockton) Balla, 83, of Monroeville, passed away Saturday, Dec. 25, 2021. Born June 15, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Frank W. and Mary Alice (Phillips) Stockton, and the wife of the late Alexander Joseph Balla Jr. Jean spent her working years as a teacher for the Gateway School District, and was the director of The Garden City nursery school, a travel agent for Happy Landing travel, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Garden City Women's Club and the church choir at Monroeville United Methodist Church. She is survived by her sons, Bryan (Robin) Balla and Kevin (Kristine) Balla; and grandchildren, Zachary, Allison, Joshua, Andrew and Lauren. Along with her husband and parents, she is also preceded in death by her grandson, Christopher; and her siblings, Jack Stockton and Nelda Stockton. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021, at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC.
