Jean M. Brown, of Akron, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on Sunday, February 8, 2026. Born in Lititz, she was the daughter of the late Dexter and Edith (Kreider) Christener.
After graduating from Warwick High School, Jean worked as a bookkeeper for many years. Outside of her professional life, she enjoyed reading, baking, and watching medical & legal dramas on TV, as well as Persian cats. Her favorite thing was being “Nana”, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Jean is survived by her son, Derek (Laurie) Brown; grandchildren Dr. Tyler (Malaya) Brown, Capt. Victoria Brown, Gabriella Brown, and Makayla Brown; great-grandson Adam Brown; siblings Judy Bair and Louise Christener; and her best friend of many years Paul Good. She is preceded in passing by her sister, Nancy Bean.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jean’s name may be made to IFCJ-International Fellowship at ifcj.org.
