Jean Bryan Obituary
Jean Moroney Bryan, age 83, of West Grove, Pennsylvania, passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was on her way with her beloved son, David, to one of their favorite pastimes, Phillies Baseball.
She was the wife of the late C. Robert Bryan, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage. Born in West Grove, PA she was a daughter of the late William Moroney and the late Mary Kirk Moroney.
Jean graduated from Avon Grove High School and West Chester State College.
She was an Elementary school teacher for Red Clay Consolidated School District, formerly Stanton School District in DE. She retired in 1994.
She was a lifelong member of Assumption BVM Catholic Church in West Grove.
Jean loved everything to do with cars, especially watching and attending NASCAR races. She also loved Phillies Baseball and had season tickets.
She will be remembered for her willingness to always help others, her friendly and outgoing personality, and the many lives she impacted as a teacher.
She is survived by her son, David R. Bryan and his fiancée, Ingrid Weber of West Grove, PA; one sister, Margaret Evans and her husband, Michael of Newark, DE; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Bill Moroney.
You are invited to visit with Jean’s family and friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at West Grove United Methodist Church, 300 N. Guernsey Road, West Grove, PA 19390 and from 9:45 to 10:45 AM on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Assumption BVM Catholic Church, 300 State Road, West Grove, PA 19390. Jean’s Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Union Hill Cemetery, 424 North Union Street, Kennett Square, PA 19348. Contributions in her memory may be made to Assumption BVM Church, 300 State Road, West Grove, PA 19390.
