Jean was my utmost favorite client when I was doing home health care at Cedar Village. She was probably the main reason I liked being there. Whenever someone asked her how old she was she would always insist that she was 19 with a great big smile on her face. Since we mostly sat around watching hours upon hours of Judge Judy, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, she didn't mind me bringing things to do to keep awake like my laptop to work on my novel or at one point I was crocheting a purse and when someone came into her room she would tell them that I would make these purses and sell them for $2000. I know that she was most touched when Cedar Village was having a Sader dinner, I knew she didn't want to go, so I had brought a teriyaki pork tenderloin, potatoes and carrots and made her a nice non kosher meal in her appartment; afterwards she sat back in her recliner and said, "and I thought I was going to have a bowl of cereal by myself for dinner tonight!" She and I had fun on our last shift together when I took her shopping at Burlington's. I had visited her every now and again at the Sheraden when I knew she moved over there. The last time I saw her, was about a couple of weeks before she passed, I had to hold my tears until I got back to my car since it was like she didn't even know me anymore, lying in the bed, and I asked her if she wanted me to stay or go and she told me to go. So good bye Jean, you will always be loved and you will always be missed. I wish I knew when your funeral was so I could have gone to it, but I hope to see you again someday in Heaven, because I know that's where you are my angel!

To my cousins and their families- Jean will be missed so much. She was the first adult in my life that gave me permission to spread my wings. Growing up, she was the only other person I felt truly understood me, next to Grandma Deva. She emphasized and shared the importance of family, and the details of all. Her grandchildren were the jewels in her crown. We all know she is reunited with those that she has loved and missed so deeply. Please know you have a soft spot to land if you find yourself in Indy.

Our love to all,
Shannon, Jamie, Jacob and Benjamin

Sympathy to Ken, Brad, Randy, and families. Jean and I were childhood friends at Lockland Church. I played the organ at her wedding and we kept in touch as we raised our families and more so as we grew old. She had the best smile -- was a joy to know and to be with. I admired her strength, her determination and her positive outlook on life. She was a dear friend and I miss her.

Aunt Jean. I will always miss her. I admired her so much as a little girl. My best times were the week we spent with her and Uncle Clell and the boys each summer. No One made hot chocolate that tasted as good as aunt Jean! A kind heart, alwYs interested in what I was doing in my life. My kids adored her. I will always miss her.

I loved working with Jean at Hopewell Junior School in the early 80's! She worked as a secretary to the assistant principal and we, counselors. She always had a smile on her face and welcomed the students with a caring demeanor. Her sons were our students and it was evident they all shared an equal respect for each other. I remember Jean telling me one Monday that she and her family took one of our distressed students on a boat outing the day before. The student later told me how much fun she had being with Jean and her family. Jean had a great sense of humor and treated everyone with high regard. She was a remarkable woman.

I'll miss Jean so much -- her sassy remarks, big grin and big hugs. It was always fun to see her when I was home in Cinci. Jean was a great listener, ready with encouragement when things were tough or with excitement when things were going great. I'm so grateful for the time I had with her. Brad, Cheryl, John, Gina and Joey, much love and wishes of peace to all of you.
