Matthews, North Carolina - Jean Craig Dellinger died peacefully on May 18th, 2023, at Brookdale-Weddington Park in Matthews, NC. Mrs. Dellinger was born January 25th, 1927, in Charlotte, the daughter of the late Margie Sistare Craig and John Wylie Craig Jr., She was predeceased by her husband, Marshall "Moe" Dellinger, sister Clarinda Craig, and brother John W. Craig, III.
A memorial service will be held Monday, June 5th, at 4:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Monroe, 302 E Windsor St, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service at the church.
Lovingly known as "Mama Jean," Mrs.Dellinger devoted her life to her church and family. She is survived by daughters Karen O'Cain (Charles) of Nebo, Janis Bryant (Bill) of Fairview, and Marsha Ashcraft (Mark) of Weddington; Grandchildren Ashleigh Marshall (Jason), Scot O'Cain, Craig Bryant (Crystal), John Bryant (Mary Beth), Will Bryant (Molly), Mark Ashcraft, Jr, Benjamin Ashcraft, and Thomas Ashcraft (Lexi); Great-grandchildren Kate Marshall, Caleb Marshall, Paige Bryant, and Miller Bryant; Cousin; Lynda Keziah ( Lynn).
Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Monroe, 302 E. Windsor Street, Monroe, NC 28112, or Hospice and Palliative Care of Charlotte, 7845 Little Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28226.

Marsha, Janis and Karen, I am so very sorry for your loss. What a wonderful momma y´all had. She was so sweet, so much fun. She will always hold a special place in my heart. I have so many memories with Marsha since first grade, and Jean was in a lot of them. So thankful for y´all that y´all had her for the time you had. But there´s never enough time with our moms.

I have such fond memories of Mrs. Dellinger from her being the organist at my childhood church, McQuay Memorial Presbyterian. She was always very kind and caring. My sincere condolences to her family.
