Jean Hanson

Jean Margaret Hanson, 85, of Kasson, MN passed away peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.

Jean was born on September 11, 1940, in Mason City, Iowa, to Roy and Katie Johnson, along with her identical twin sister, Joan. Their older brother, Dick, was at home to welcome the twins’ arrival. 

In 1955, the family moved to the Hayfield, Minnesota, area, where Jean later met her husband, Roger Hanson. Jean and Roger were married in Austin, Minnesota, and shared 64 years together. They were blessed with three daughters—Laurie, Linda, and Shelley. 

In the early years, Jean and Roger made their home in Hayfield, Austin, and Rochester. In 1976, they purchased Valley View Mobile Home Park in Dodge Center, where Jean managed the park until its sale in 1999. Following that, they resided in Kasson and Dodge Center.

Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She cherished time spent with her family and took great joy in her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her gentle spirit, warm smile, and love for others will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; her parents, Roy and Katie Johnson; her brother, Dick; her twin sister, Joan; and her son-in-law, Bruce Franko. 

She is survived by her daughters, Laurie (Jim) Belden, Linda (Mike) Stevens, and Shelley (Randy) Ferson; grandchildren, Katie Williamson, Kirby Belden, Cheyenne Mikkelsen, Jade Koffler, Shane Stevens, Brock Franko, Morgan Franko, and Kylie Franko; as well as many great- and great-great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy. 

Jean’s love and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

A small family service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Living Water Assembly Church, 203 E Main St in Dodge Center, MN, with Pastor Roy Andrews officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. until the time of her service at the church. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center, MN.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Mayo Hospice, Living Water Church, or the charity of your choice.
