Jean Heasley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lindsay-Jobe Funeral Home, Inc. - Harrison City on Mar. 12, 2026.
Jean Elizabeth (Fink) Heasley, age 100, entered eternal rest on January 16, 2026, after living a full and vibrant life. She cherished the friendships made throughout her life. Jean was the daughter of William H. Fink and Ruth (Bauer) Fink Reynolds and was born November 22, 1925. She married the love of her life, Brice E. Heasley, on October 12, 1946, and they were blessed with over 50 years of marriage. Jean was a graduate of the Westmoreland School of Nursing, Greensburg, PA. In 1966 she began working for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring after 20 years as Post Master in 1986. Jean grew up and lived in Harrison City, PA until 2023 when she moved to assisted living in Cheswick, PA. She was a faithful member of Penn Zion's Lutheran Church where her grandfather, Dr. William Bauer, served as Pastor for 31 years, and where Jean taught Sunday school, was a member of the Lutheran Church Women, and bible study group. She had deep-rooted Christian beliefs and practiced those beliefs her entire life. Jean was very close to her church family, the caring staff of the Villages of Harmar and Bridges Hospice. She appreciated and enjoyed all they did for her. Always young in spirit, she will be remembered in the hearts of those who shared her love of life. Jean was preceded in death by her parents and husband; brother, William H. Fink; sister, Nancy Costello; great-granddaughter, Olivia Godfrey; and numerous brothers-and sisters-in-law. Surviving is her daughter, Bonnie (Phillip) Godfrey of Cheswick; son, Bryce (Judy) Heasley of New Castle; grandsons, Matthew (Jenna) and Brian (Christine) Godfrey; granddaughter, Amanda (Michael) Shaheen; great-grandson, Alexander Godfrey; great-granddaughters, Ashlyn and Kyle LaVelle. Jean leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and testament to the power of kindness and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed, but forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. A Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22nd from 10 am until 11 am at Penn Zion's Lutheran Church 3417 Route 130, Harrison City, PA where a Memorial Service to celebrate Jean's life will be held at 11 am with Reverend Roger Steiner officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Penn Zion's Lutheran Church, PO Box 351, Harrison City, PA 15636. Special thanks for the kindness and compassion by everyone who touched her life. Pass the Spirit forward to one another.
