Jean Hall Hinckley

Jean Hall Hinckley, of Cape Coral, passed away peacefully on November 10th at Hope Hospice. She was 80. Jean was born in Brockton, MA. She graduated from Radcliffe College in 1957, and went on to be one of the first women to earn a law degree from the University of Virginia in 1960. Her distinguished career was spent practicing law for Social Security and the Department of Health and Human Services. After retiring in the early 1990s, Jean and her husband Richard moved to Cape Coral, FL. She was a lover of art in every form. Quilting, sewing, and hooking are just a few of the hobbies Jean pursued in her retirement years. She especially enjoyed being generous to those around her, and often hand made gifts for those she loved.  Jean was preceded in death by her devoted husband Richard E. Hinckley, and her parents Bion Bradbury Hall and Mary Benson Hall. She is survived by her brother, Bion B. Hall, Jr. and his wife Debra of Cape Coral, her 2 brothers-in-law Robert Hinckley and his wife Barbara of North Andover MA, and Bruce Hinckley and his wife Beth of Cincinnati, OH, several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends who she saw as family. Special thanks to Dr. Robert Casola and his staff for the many years of care and friendship they gave to Jean.  Burial at South Florida National Cemetery took place on November 14th. A memorial service will follow at a later date.
