Jean M. Lagaza, 86, of Ephrata, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025.

She was born in Shenandoah, PA, to the late Joseph and Thereasa (Bova) Kershitsky and was the wife of the late Milton F. Lagaza.

She was a member of Our Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Ephrata. During her working years, Jean was a factory worker for Bollman Hat Factory. In her free time, she enjoyed casinos, bus trips, shopping and dancing. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends.

Jean is survived by a daughter, Kimberly A. Lagaza, a "daughter by choice," Wendy L. Schmuck; two brothers, Joseph "Butchy" Kerr and Jack Kershitsky.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Gary M. Lagaza; a brother, Ronald Kershitsky and a sister, Kathy George.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 10 to 11 AM, at Stradling Funeral Home, 30 North 9th Street, Akron, followed by a Christian Prayer Service, at 11 AM, with Fr. Paul J. Borowski, C.Ss.R. as celebrant. Final Commendation and Farewell will take place in Memory Gardens Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jean's memory may be made to ASPCA, 424 E. 92nd St., New York, NY 10128, or American Heart Association, Lancaster Division, 4250 Crums Mill Rd., Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17112.
