Jéan-Marie Louise Lucas, 54, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away on October 16, 2025. Jéan-Marie was a vibrant, creative, and deeply loving person who faced lifelong struggles. Though her illness made life difficult, it never defined the fullness of who she was. She was beautiful, brilliant, and imaginative. She loved adventure, animals, music that always filled her home, and cooking meals that brought comfort to those around her.
Jéan-Marie had a special gift with animals, especially her beloved dogs Harleen, George, and Riley-Joe. She had a way of understanding them, a quiet connection that brought her peace and joy. They were her family, her comfort, and her constant companions.
Jéan-Marie will be remembered as a woman who loved deeply, even when that love was complicated. Her greatest joy was her daughter, Alicia Shifflett of Tampa, FL.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Jones, and all of her maternal and paternal grandparents.
She is survived by her daughter, Alicia; her partner, Michael Dibiagio of Colorado Springs, Co; her parents, Bill and Delma Lucas of Mountain Home, AR; her siblings, Steve Jones (Susan) of Moreno Valley, CA, Bill Jones of Giddings, TX, Michele Kapp (Tony) of Corona, CA, and Sharron Lucas-Baker (James) of Kansas City, MO. She also leaves behind six nieces, one nephew, and many extended family and friends who loved her.
Jéan-Marie’s life was not without pain, but it was also full of love, laughter, and creativity. She will be remembered for her fierce spirit, her compassion for animals, and the light she brought into the world.
A Memorial Mass for Jéan-Marie will be 2:00 pm, Monday, October 20, 2025, at St. Peter The Fisherman Catholic Church, with Father Norbert Rappold officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Ozark or your local Humane Society.
