Beloved Resident of State Road, North Carolina
Jean Norman Miller, age 85, of State Road, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.
Born on October 29, 1939, Jean was the cherished daughter of Grady and Daisy Isaacs Norman. She was a devoted member of Rocky Ford Baptist Church, where her faith remained strong throughout her life. Jean found joy in simple pleasures—reading her favorite books, shopping, tending to her yard, and watching her cherished soap operas. She deeply valued the time spent with her family and friends, always bringing warmth and laughter to those around her.
Jean’s adventurous spirit shone brightly during her marriage to her beloved husband, Jack Miller. Together, they shared a love for travel, frequently embarking on bus tours and exploring new places side by side. Their journeys created memories that Jean treasured dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Jack Miller; her brother, Kenneth Norman; and her sister, Wilda Mae Royal.
Jean is survived by her special nephew, Dollie Norman, and his wife Deborah of State Road; her niece, Debbie Johnson; as well as several great-nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her kindness and love.
A funeral service to honor Jean’s life will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at the Elkin Funeral Service Chapel. The service will be officiated by Rev. Danny Royal and Rev. William Shew. Family and friends are invited to gather and pay their respects from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will follow at Rocky Ford Baptist Church Cemetery.
Jean Norman Miller will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and faith will endure in the hearts of her family and friends.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Chatham Nursing Center and Mountain Valley Hospice for their compassionate care and unwavering support during this difficult time.
