Visitation is 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
The former Jean Matthews was born October 26, 1946, in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of Harry Charles and Mable (Scott) Matthews. She married the love of her life, J. Thomas Morrical, on June 24, 1967, in Saginaw. The couple had two daughters and shared 49 years of happy marriage prior to his passing on June 22, 2016.
A woman of strong faith, Jean volunteered in several capacities and sang in the church choir for St. Peter Lutheran Church in Mishawaka, St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Milan, and St. John’s Lutheran Church in East Moline.
She enjoyed reading, gardening, and loved her many pets over the years. Above all else, family was the most important thing to Jean, and after raising her two daughters and her many years of volunteering in their schools and music programs, she especially enjoyed supporting her beloved grandchildren in their various sports and other activities.
Jean is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Heather and Kevin Yodts of Moline, Illinois, and Holly and Jamie Dunkel of Arlington Heights, Illinois; and her pride and joy, six grandchildren, Kyler (Hanna) Yodts, Abbigail (Adam Budduck-Poulin) Yodts, Madison (Michaela Schulte) Yodts, Jake Taylor-Yodts, George Dunkel, and Beatrix Dunkel. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Mary Ann Borchard.
