Jean Steele Mulliner, 84, of
Provo, Utah passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026.
Jean was born February 23, 1942 in Magrath, Alberta to John Thomas and Anna Steele. Jean went to Magrath High School where she was a cheerleader and enjoyed working in her mother's coffee shop. Following high school she went to Rick's College and later Brigham Young University in Provo, where she graduated with a degree in history.
She married John (Jack) Mulliner on May 1, 1967 in Lethbridge, Alberta. Jean and Jack were the proud parents of five children: Holly, Stacy, Joanna, John, and Amanda. They were blessed with fourteen grandchildren: Cody, Sierra (Alissa), Meghan (Theo), Ryan, Julia, Tanesha, Kylie (Collin), Mckenzie, Avery, John (Kyra), Jane, Travis, Natalie, and Anthony (Olivia). They have especially enjoyed their great-grandchildren: Oliver, Artemis, Evangeline, Makenna, and Brady. They are anxiously awaiting the birth of their sixth great-grandchild due in later in March.
Jean retired from Burrell's Press Clipping. Later, she worked at Franklin Elementary School. She enjoyed being in her garden with flowers. She was a talented quilter, cook, and enjoyed doing family history work. She loved reading, watching British mystery shows on TV, exploring Utah, and especially spending time with her family.
Jean was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in a variety of callings throughout her life and enjoyed serving in the temple. Through her service she was able to make many lifelong friends and cherished the relationships she formed.
Jean is survived by her loving husband, Jack; her children, Holly Mulliner, Stacy (David) Stoker, Joanna (Nathane) Aufmuth, John Mulliner, and Amanda (Bryan) Dickson; fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and her loving sister, Ruth (Harold) Doerksen and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Alton Steele.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, ward members, and friends that have helped and supported Jean and the family over the recent weeks.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 14 at 11:00 am in the Lakeside 4th Ward building, located at 102 North 2400 West,
Provo, Utah. Those who wish to send flowers can send them to the building Saturday morning from 9:00-10:30. Internment will be at the Utah State Veterans Memorial Park in Bluffdale.
