Jean M. Nuzzetti, 97, a longtime resident of Worcester passed away surrounded by loved ones Saturday, August 9th 2025.
Jean was born in Shrewsbury, one of four children of Italian immigrants, Francesco and Margaret (Simone) Maenzo. Raised in Shrewsbury, as a young woman, Jean worked for Davey’s Handbags and the L. Farber Company where she met and fell in love with Ralph (Duke) A. Nuzzetti. They married and settled in the Italian neighborhood off Shrewsbury St where they raised their family, with faith, love and devotion for more than 73 years before Ralph passed and left Jean’s side in 2022.
Jean is survived by her two devoted sons, Anthony Nuzzetti and his wife, Mary Jane, Steven Nuzzetti and his wife Mary Ellen all of Worcester; a sister, Carmella Kruczynski of Shrewsbury; six grandchildren she cherished, Danielle Fisher and her husband Dave, Keith Torrey and his wife Maria, Kristen, Kerry, Patrick, Ashley and her fiancé David Ferguson; four great grandchildren, Devin, Deyana, Teagan and Kinsley; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends including Heather and Carol who were so special in helping with Jean’s care. In addition to her parents and beloved Ralph, a daughter Paula Torrey, her husband Richard, and brothers, Joseph and Anthony Maenzo all predeceased her.
Jean was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church during its golden years. She lived a simple, quiet life, as matriarch of the Nuzzetti family. Her smile, wisdom, and enormous heart contributed greatly to her success. She loved to cook for her family, her children's friends and neighbors who happened to stop by. Jean’s house was always welcome to all and open to everyone. The holidays, special occasions, and family dinners were the special moments that will be cherished memories. Jean also enjoyed watching game shows on television.
Funeral services and burial next to Ralph in St John Cemetery were held privately.
