JEAN PAGE Obituary

JEAN CORRINE PAGE Jean Corrine Page was born January 6, 1930 to Ruby (Mullens) and G.C. Raper. She passed away from this life on January 25, 2026 at the age of 96. Jean was a 1948 graduate of Durant High School and a 1951 graduate of Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She then enrolled at Oklahoma A & M ( now OSU) where she graduated in 1956 with her Masters degree In education. While at OSU her roommate Joy invited her on a picnic where she met her future husband, Bill Page. They were married in Stillwater on October 16, 1954. In October 1959 they welcomed their daughter, Terri. During graduate school she taught school at several schools around Stillwater. After moving to Ardmore, she managed the YWCA for several years. Eventually she taught at Springer for almost 10 years. She taught everything from 6th grade science to Senior English while managing the library, and being class sponsor which included working the concession stands and going on class trips. But she didn't just teach, she picked up students every year from Ardmore that wanted to go to Springer and brought them home everyday at no expense to the students. After teaching, she became a member of the Busy Extension Homemakers, where she worked at the fair, livestock shows and other special events. She participated in Extension Homemakers as various officers for local and state levels. She traveled all over the United States attending the national conventions. Jean helped start the Ardmore Christmas Parade which she continued to help with well into her 80's. She especially liked giving Christmas gifts to the children at the annual party after raising money. She also helped start the Craft Fair that was held at the Colosseum. It grew so large they had to restrict the number of vendors. Of course, she was in charge of vendors so everyone had her phone number which rang non-stop around the deadline. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and G.C. Raper, her sister, Mildred, and her husband Bill Page. She is survived by her daughter Terri Keuchel and her husband Dr. David Keuchel of Edmond, OK; grandchildren Dr. Mark Keuchel and his wife Azure of Edmond, OK, and Jennifer Young and her husband Kahle of Oklahoma City, OK; and great grandchildren, Kirby and Eloise Keuchel and Elizabeth and Matthew Young. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, February 2nd at 1:00 p.m. at the Craddock Memorial Chapel with David Leu officiating. Internment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. I met Jean sometime around 1962 when I joined the Busy Extension Homemakers Club after I stopped working. She was the consummate homemaker. Her canning exhibits always won blue ribbons at the County fair. She was active in all aspects of the Carter County Extension Homemakers organization.
