Mrs. Shelby Jean King Phillips, age 85, of Fred King Rd. Hartwell, passed peacefully into Jesus arms on Monday, October 23, 2023 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 8, 1938 in Hartwell to the late Fred King and Lucille Jordan King. She worked in the garment industry and was co-founder of Phillips Plumbing and Appliance Company and was a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and attended Mt. Olivet Church of God. She loved her customers, soap opera's and church and she especially loved her family and grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memories are her children; Penney (Ricky) Whiting and Darrin (Connie) Phillips all of Hartwell, Ga., grandchildren, Deanna London, Tabitha Whiting, Jared (Kelly) Whiting, Nolan Whiting, Kristin (Kody) Senkbeil, Colt Phillips, Cassidy (Collin) Phillips, Coy (Faith) Phillips and great-grandchildren, Lacie Whiting, Trevor Whiting, David Blackmon, Brooklyn Blackmon, Natalie Senkbeil, Beaux Senkbeil, Joanna Senkbeil, Boone Senkbeil, Coe Vaughn, Clayton London, Caitlyn London, Colby London, Bo London, Blaze London and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Belton Phillips, son Randy Phillips and her brother Carey King.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Phillips will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Two o'clock at Mt. Olivet Church of God. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Wednesday, October 25, 2023 6-9 p.m.
Family members will be at the home of Darrin and Connie Phillips, 471 Fred King Road in Hartwell
Services have been entrusted to Coile and Hall Funeral Directors, 333 E. Johnson Street in Hartwell.
