Jean Powell Obituary
Jean Leffel Powell, 94, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Hedrick Leffel and Ida May Cox Leffel; husband, Branson Elbert Powell, Sr; and grandsons, Jason Philip Powell and Jantzen Wade Powell.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Branson "Butch" Elbert Powell, Jr. (Betty), and John William Powell (Josephine); daughter, Anita Jeanine Thomas (Steve); grandchildren, April Martin (Dean), Justin Powell (Marie), Angela Lunsford, and Preston Kidd (Samantha); plus, great-grandchildren and numerous "adopted" children and grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00pm on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the Buchanan Chapel of Botetourt Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 3:00pm. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Troutville Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses at 70 Greenfield Street, Daleville, VA 24083.
