Eva Mae Woods, 101 years old, of Cloverdale, Virginia, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 22, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peyton Hamilton Woods, after nearly 73 years of marriage. Her offspring preceding her were daughter, Mary Carol Voorhees, and son, Randall Timothy Woods.
By trade, Eva was a cosmetologist, but her real passion was teaching children the Word of God. As a Child Evangelism Teacher of 30+ years, she taught throughout the Roanoke Valley using missionary stories, magic tricks, puppets, and illustrations, along with the lessons from the Bible (her main weapon) to help children learn more about Jesus and His love for them.
She was known as "Granny" by her grandchildren, consisting of the following:
• 23 grandchildren
• 39 great children
• 11 great, great grandchildren
Also, surviving to cherish her memory are three daughters, Sandra BeCraft, Donnia Woods, and Linda Kaye Woods, as well as two sons, Leon Woods (Kathy) and Norman Woods.
Mom, we know you are truly 'home.' We love you and will miss you greatly.
We will see you and Dad in heaven one day.
