Jean McClure Sargent

Jean McClure Sargent, age 95, of Woodstock, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, November 17, 2025. She was born on September 18, 1930, in Woodstock, Georgia, to the late Emmett and Emma McClure.
Jean was the oldest member of Carmel Baptist Church, a community she cherished deeply. She found great joy in tending to her yard and continued mowing her own grass until the age of 93. Jean loved her family dearly and delighted in cooking for them, creating a warm and welcoming home filled with love. A weekly highlight for her was getting her hair done by her dear friend Murl. She also enjoyed browsing Facebook on her iPad, keeping up with friends, family, and the world around her.
Jean will be remembered for her independence, kindness, and the love she shared so generously.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.B. Sargent, Sr. and son, E.B. Sargent, Jr.
Jean is survived by her children, Debbie Seagraves and Steve Sargent; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Don Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at Sosebee Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 19th from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, November 20th from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
