Jean Wise Obituary

Jean M. Wise, lovingly known as "Gramma Jean", 89, of 504 West Creek Road, St. Marys, passed away peacefully with her family by her side Saturday, March 7, 2026.
She was born December 23, 1936 in St. Marys, daughter of the late James and Helen Henry Weidow. Jean was a lifelong resident of the area, attending St. Marys schools, and was employed at Metco, where she retired and tended the bar at the St. Marys Moose Club.
In May of 1974, Jean married the late Charles Wise, who preceded her in death in 1982.
She is survived by her daughters: Mary Kay Smith and Peggy Michuck, both of St. Marys; sons: Steven Michuck (Yvonne) and Thomas Michuck, both of St. Marys; fourteen grandchildren: Long Huynh, Tracy Chiesa (Mel), Dustin Michuck, Kyle Michuck (Emily), Jessica Smith (Nick), Jackie Solic (Alan), Stephanie Drayer (Luke), Phil Michuck, and Ryan Michuck (Kelli); ten great-grandchildren: three brothers: John Weidow (Joanne) of St. Marys, Kenny Weidow (Kit) of St. Marys, and Mike Weidow, (Chris) of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Michuck and Joseph Michuck; a grandson, Scott Wise; a great-granddaughter, Madelyn Michuck; two step-sons, Paul and Rick Wise; a sister, Carol Bullers; a brother, Jim Weidow; and a son-in-law, Steve Smith.
Jean was a devoted mother and grandmother whose warmth, kindness, and open heart made everyone feel like part of her family. Gramma Jean found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved playing Bingo, watching the birds, and tending to flowers.
She was also involved in her community, serving as a Cub Scout Leader or faithfully working the polls during elections. She was a member of the Moose, Elks, CMF and Eagles Clubs as well as the Senior Center. Gramma Jean will be remembered for her spirit, her smile, and the loved she shared so freely.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Sacred Heart Church, 337 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 10:00AM with Rev. Thomas Curry, O.S.B., celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home, 169 Center Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 2:00PM until 5:00PM.
