In Loving Memory of Jeanette Irene Taylor Adams
September 5, 1932 – January 3, 2025
At the call of her Lord and Savior, Jeanette Irene Taylor Adams peacefully entered into eternal
rest on January 3, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and
cherished friend to many. Jeanettes life was a testament to her unwavering faith, her love for
Jesus, and her devotion to her family.
Jeanette was born on September 5, 1932, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to her loving parents, Artis and
Frank Taylor. She pursued higher education at Pasadena Nazarene College, where she met the
love of her life, Donald R. Adams. After Donald's service in the Army, the couple moved to
Roswell, New Mexico, where they built a life centered around faith, family, and farming. They
shared 68 wonderful years together.
Jeanette's heart was truly at home with her kids, on the family farm in Roswell, NM. She took
immense joy in helping them care for the animals, gardening, and walking the land. Once her
children were grown, Jeanette worked for the Roswell Independent School District, first serving
lunches and later as a teacher's assistant.
Jeanette's love for teaching kids extended to her Sunday school class, of 2 and 3-year-olds for
over 30 years. Her creativity shone in her teaching methods; her young students especially loved
her tradition of cutting an apple in half to reveal the star inside and sharing the rhyme:
"Way up in the apple tree,
Two little apples smiled at me.
I shook that tree as hard as I could,
Down came the apples-mmm, so good!"
Jeanette had a zest for life that was infectious. She never met a stranger and made everyone she
encountered feel welcomed and loved. A lifelong member of the Nazarene Church, Jeanette was
known for her hospitality and warm spirit. She often welcomed new church guests into her home
for delicious, home-cooked Sunday meals, a reflection of her generous heart and dedication to
fostering community and faith. Whether attending her weekly quilting group, sharing laughs with
her coffee and exercise friends, or lending a hand at All American Cleaners alongside her sons,
Jeanette embraced every opportunity to connect with others.
In 2013, Jeanette began her journey with Alzheimer's disease, a condition that gradually took
parts of her from her family. Her radiant smile, sparkling eyes and joyous laugher remained
untouched to the end. Even in her final years, her dark, uncolored hair symbolized her timeless
beauty and strength. The Adams family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Fountain Hills
Memory Care Center of Lubbock, Hospice of Lubbock, Nurse Cassandra and Chaplain Elizabeth
Abraham along with the many other caregivers for their compassionate and loving care during
Jeanette's final years.
Jeanette is survived by her devoted husband, Donald R. Adams; her three children: Dana Adams,
Randy Adams and Lee Adams (Karla); her four grandchildren: Evans Trammell (Susan),
Lindsay Rodriquez (Ryan), Camron Adams (Kaitlyn) and Taylor Adams (Callie); and her eight
great-grandchildren: Emma and Beau Trammell, Rowan and Lainey Rodriquez, Carter and
Baker Adams and Kru and Kai Adams. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the
hearts of her family and all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Artis and Frank Taylor; her sister, Naomi (and
husband, Jim) and her father- and mother-in-law, Wayne and Juanita Adams.
