Jeanette C. Arnold

1936 - 2023

JANESVILLE, WI - Jeanette Catherine Arnold, age 87 of Janesville, passed away on Thursday morning, December 14, 2023, at Mercy Hospital. She was born on August 13,1936 in Richland Center, Wis., the daughter of Wilmont and Catherine (Comstock) Dampier. She grew up in Janesville and was a Janesville High School graduate.

Jeanette married John "Jack" Arnold on December 10, 1955. Four children, Leslie, Virginia, Lee and Sandra were born of the marriage. Jeanette was proud to be a farmer's wife and homemaker throughout her life. She was active as a 4-H leader. She served as an elder at Rock Prairie Presbyterian Church when she was a member there and later as an elder at First Presbyterian Church after becoming a member.

Jeanette will be remembered for her wonderful baking. She was especially fond of being with her family and a real highlight in her life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jeanette is survived by her four children, Leslie (Janice) Arnold, Virginia (Mike) Kriigel, Lee (Rita) Arnold, and Sandra (Douglas) Barrette; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Donald (Tana) Dampier, Ted (Ebba) Dampier, Larry Dampier, and Michelle (Donald) Nelson; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Arnold on December 13, 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Christine Arnold; a great-granddaughter; brothers, Jack Dampier, Ken Dampier, David Dampier and Bill Dampier.

A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at HENKE-CLARSON FUNERAL HOME, 1010 N. Wright Road, Janesville with a service of remembrance to follow at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Dec. 19th at the FUNERAL HOME. Rev. Lee A. Meissner will officiate. Private interment will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park.
