PROCTOR- Jeanette Colburn, Age 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday evening June 10, 2022 at her residence in Proctor.
She was born on August 8, 1946 the daughter of Frederick and Mary Ellen (Emmons) Sears.
Jeanette grew up in Bomoseen and after her schooling she worked over the years as an aid to people with disabilities.
Jeanette's greatest joy was her family and will be remembered for her strength and loving support to her family, her friends, and her community.
In her day she enjoyed the outdoors, camping, 4 wheeling, and gardening. She also treasured time spent quilting, oil painting, crocheting, and knitting. Jeanette's cooking, sense of humor, and love for animals was well known and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her longtime companion and caregiver Richard Manning of Proctor, a daughter Tina Parrott of Crown Point, NY, 2 sons Frederick Richardson of WI, and Ronald Hibbard of Burlington; 2 brothers Larry Sears of Rutland and Douglas Sears of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; her many Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother and best friend Harold A. Sears on February 7, 2022, a daughter Tammy Ann Hibbard and a son Richard Allen Manning
Family and friends are invited to Jeanette's memorial service Friday, June 17th, 2022 at 6 pm, held at the Durfee Funeral Home, 119 North Main St, Fair Haven, VT.
